[Builder Hall] I know we all want to 100% our village, and 100% our builder hall before upgrading to the next level. I know sometimes it hurts to rush a base, we’ve learned that the best thing you can do is have patience and max out your townhall level. What I’m going to tell you today is a piece of information I learned that could help us all, myself included, and it is to go ahead and rush your builder hall base as fast as possible. I think this will merit having it’s own post, all about this.
The entirety of the builder hall base, all that work put into it for months, years maybe, is all just for 1 magical building at the end, the O.T.T.O hut, which lets your master builder be free to travel to your main village and be a 6th builder! And OTTO stays behind and can still upgrade builder hall buildings if you wanted.
So, the O.T.T.O hut becomes available at BH9 (Builder Hall 9), and if you fully maxed out everything before going to the next BH level, it would literally take years. However, by working on a rushed base to BH9, it could take you only 3 months. How we do this is by separating out unnecessary buildings from the rest. Let’s break that down shall we?
First of all, every time you upgrade to a new BH level, you are required to build all the new buildings before being able to upgrade the BH to the next level. If they are not any of the following, then ignore them;
First of all, you need all your Gold/Elixir storage containers to max level every chance you get. When you get rewards, such as from attacking, clan games, seasonal rewards, or use runes, you want every drop of gold/elixir you can get. If your storage containers aren’t maxed out, you’re wasting it.
Next is the Gold/Elixir collectors, it’s free loot, especially when you use the clock tower to speed these up every day. Since you can only attack 3 times in a day, this becomes one of your primary sources of gold/elixir. It might not be much, but it’s the only thing that is constantly giving you more.
The clock tower is another you would benefit from maxing out. Longer clock tower time means faster upgrades and more collector loot.
Army camps. These don’t require upgrading, but do make it one of your priorities to build new ones as soon as you can. For reference: Builder Hall level x # of army camps: 1×1, 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, 5×4, 6×4, 7×5, 8×6, 9×6.
Get a Barracks building to level 7 to unlock the Cannon Cart, and you don’t have to worry about the rest of the levels, you’ll see why below. Any higher level than this is a waste of elixir that could be put towards upgrading cannon carts.
For attacking, the best and strongest army you can have, with 6 army camps, is 4x Cannon Carts and 2x Boxer Giants, with a Battle Machine. If your Battle Machine is down for upgrades, then switch to 3x Cannon Carts + 3x Boxer Giants. If you have less army camps, like I do, you’ll have to adjust accordingly depending on how many army camps you have. The idea is basically using the Boxer Giants to soak up damage by tanking, and the Cannon Carts for the damage. If your Battle Machine is available, it can soak up damage too, so you should have less Boxer Giants and more Cannon Carts for faster damage. Does that make sense?
If you don’t have sufficient levels for those, you could still do like mass Raged Barbarians or whatever to secure the wins.
You also want the Star Laboratory to max level. You want to get your cannon carts to at least level 10 asap (Star Lab level 5). Boxer Giant to at least level 8 (Star Lab level 4). Cannon Cart level 10 unlocks a 3rd cannon cart in your army camps, which is the max in the game. The rest of the cannon cart upgrades are for damage/hp increase. For the Boxer Giant, level 8 unlocks a 3rd one per camp.
We’ll talk about the Battle Machine at the end.
Now lets talk about the requirements the O.T.T.O hut requirements. You need to upgrade the O.T.T.O hut to level 5 to actually “unlock” it, but you level it up by doing other tasks, not with resources directly. The first task is the “Gear Up” option, which requires you to upgrade certain buildings in your main village with the “Gear Up” option.
The first is the Double Cannon. You can complete this at a Town Hall 6 with a level 7 Cannon, and Builder Hall 4 with a level 4 Double Cannon.
The second is the Archer Tower. You can complete this at Town Hall 8 with a level 10 Archer Tower, and a Builder Hall 6 with a level 6 Archer Tower.
The third is the Multi Mortar. You can complete this at Town Hall 10 with a level 8 Mortar, and a Builder Hall 8 with a level 8 Multi Mortar. You should know that this Gear Up upgrade will take 14 days. That’s a lot of time used up, builder hall attacks wasted, or builder hall attack wins just going to full storage containers. There is a trick to this, though. If you can get your hands on a “Book of Building” magical item, SAVE IT for this upgrade. Just a few clicks and you could have the entire 2 week gear up upgrade done in just a few seconds.
The next task for the O.T.T.O hut requires your Cannon Carts to be Level 18 (Star Lab Level 9). This works for us because we’re already maxing out Cannon Carts anyways, it’s like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. If you used a different army composition, it would only slow down this task. To have enough elixir for this upgrade, you need 1 Elixir Storage to level 9, and another to at least level 8. Every single drop of Elixir you get should be put towards Cannon Cart upgrades.
The next task is to have a Mega Tesla to level 9, and to have the Battle Machine to level 30. After you finished putting every single drop of Elixir towards the cannon cart upgrades, now every single drop of Elixir should go towards the Battle Machine, and every bit of gold towards the Mega Tesla. Alternate between upgrading the 2.
There is a nifty trick here that you might miss. To get the Mega Tesla from level 8 to 9, you would have to upgrade your Gold Storage from level 8 to 9. To have save some Elixir for your Battle Machine upgrades, you can use a magic item, the “Hammer of Building” to upgrade that last Mega Tesla level. It instantly upgrades it without having to use any gold, and saves time + elixir by not having to fully upgrade the Gold Storage past level 8, and saves even more time by not having to wait for the Mega Tesla. That saves you over 10 days.
The Battle Machine is a best, better than all the other heroes. Makes the Barbarian King, Archer Queen, Grand Warden, Royal Champion all look like a joke. And it has that ability that recharges for multiple uses per attack, which makes it’s Damage stronger, and increases it’s HP. And of course you don’t even have to wait for it to recover between attacks.
If you follow all these grueling steps, you’ll have saved years of time, down to only mere months, to get that 6th builder.
It should go without saying, but obviously you’ll still have to upgrade some other things in your builder hall so you aren’t just losing 100% of the attacks. All of the things here should be a priority, but if upgrading something else means you can win more easily, then go for it.
